Websites for small businesses in Salem, NH

In October 2026 we looked up 181 Salem businesses on Google Maps. The biggest groups were restaurants (19), salons (18) and auto shops (14).

54 of the working sites belonged to appointment businesses (salons, nail salons and gyms). 9 of them had no way to book online, so every appointment means a phone call during business hours.

27 had no website on their Google listing at all, and 3 more only linked to a Facebook or Instagram page. Someone searching on a phone gets a phone number and not much else. That is less than the 23% we saw across all 34 towns we checked.

We opened 99 of the websites listed on Google. 5 went nowhere: the page didn't load or showed an error, including 1 that landed on a parked domain or an expired-site page. Anyone who taps one of those links gets nothing.

3 of the 94 working sites weren't set up for phones, so the text shows up tiny and people pinch to zoom.

Auto shops were the group most often missing a real website: 6 of the 14 we looked up had none, or only a social page.
