Websites for small businesses in Portsmouth, NH

In October 2026 we looked up 204 Portsmouth businesses on Google Maps. The biggest groups were restaurants (21), salons (21) and nail salons (18).

68 of the working sites belonged to appointment businesses (salons, nail salons and gyms). 13 of them had no way to book online, so every appointment means a phone call during business hours.

20 had no website on their Google listing at all, and 2 more only linked to a Facebook or Instagram page. Someone searching on a phone gets a phone number and not much else. That is less than the 23% we saw across all 34 towns we checked.

Of the 122 websites we opened, 4 were dead, including 1 that landed on a parked domain or an expired-site page. Google still lists those businesses as open, but the link sends people nowhere.

4 of the 118 working sites weren't set up for phones, so the text shows up tiny and people pinch to zoom.

Plumbers were the group most often missing a real website: 5 of the 9 we looked up had none, or only a social page.
