Websites for small businesses in Saco, ME
Saco is in southern Maine, about 43 miles from our office in Stratham. We build websites, online booking and small software tools for local businesses, and these are the numbers that made us look closer at Saco.
What we found in Saco
In October 2026 we looked up 120 Saco businesses on Google Maps. The biggest groups were salons (15), auto shops (11) and real estate offices (10).
32 of the working sites belonged to appointment businesses (auto shops, gyms and salons). 10 of them had no way to book online, so every appointment means a phone call during business hours.
26 had no website on their Google listing at all, and 1 more only linked to a Facebook or Instagram page. Someone searching on a phone gets a phone number and not much else.
Of the 54 websites we opened, 1 were dead. Google still lists those businesses as open, but the link sends people nowhere.
1 of the 53 working sites weren't set up for phones, so the text shows up tiny and people pinch to zoom.
Nail salons were the group most often missing a real website: 5 of the 7 we looked up had none, or only a social page.
How we counted: businesses we found on Google Maps in October 2026 while looking for salons, barbers, auto shops, trades, gyms, groomers and similar local businesses. Chains and medical offices are left out. A "dead" link means the website on the Google listing didn't load, showed an error or showed a parked page when we opened it. We don't name anyone, and the numbers are a snapshot.
