Websites for small businesses in Bedford, NH
Bedford is in southern New Hampshire, about 29 miles from our office in Stratham. We build websites, online booking and small software tools for local businesses, and these are the numbers that made us look closer at Bedford.
What we found in Bedford
We looked up 112 local businesses in Bedford on Google Maps in October 2026, including salons (16), nail salons (15) and landscapers (11).
40 of the working sites belonged to appointment businesses (salons, yoga studios and nail salons). 7 of them had no way to book online, so every appointment means a phone call during business hours.
10 had no website on their Google listing at all, and 3 more only linked to a Facebook or Instagram page. Someone searching on a phone gets a phone number and not much else. That is less than the 23% we saw across all 34 towns we checked.
4 of the 63 working sites weren't set up for phones, so the text shows up tiny and people pinch to zoom.
We opened 63 of the websites listed on Google and every one loaded. That is not true in most towns we checked.
How we counted: businesses we found on Google Maps in October 2026 while looking for salons, barbers, auto shops, trades, gyms, groomers and similar local businesses. Chains and medical offices are left out. A "dead" link means the website on the Google listing didn't load, showed an error or showed a parked page when we opened it. We don't name anyone, and the numbers are a snapshot.
